This is the 3rd consecutive year that we have bought from La Esperanza, Guatemala. Producer Francisco Morales has been growing coffee since the age of 15, when he selected coffee seeds and started planting them in his nursery in a small plot of land by the roadside. It hasn’t been smooth-sailing but despite the many challenges faced over the years, he has been able to increase his lot sizes as well as coffee quality over time.

Francisco’s passion and enthusiasm easily rubs onto anyone who chats with him. We had the opportunity to meet him in person last year and he was incredibly excited to hear how our customers find his coffees in this part of the world. As roasters, we love working with producers like him and glad to have the opportunity to share his hard work with our customers.

The cup presents tropical fruit acidity, coupled with cherry sweetness and a rounded chocolate finish. The espresso is vibrant and balanced. With milk, it’s creamy and sweet, very enjoyable.
